My brother Rick's oldest son David (age 11) has been in the hospital for a week now (that is Tom in the picture for those that don't know). David was diagnosed with a brain tumor last Tuesday. Surgery was done on Thursday to remove the tumor. He was kept sedated on Friday but the decreased his sedation on Saturday. It was touch and go the first couple of days, but he has slowly been making improvements. As of today he is awake more and able to respond with nods of his head. He is also able to move arms and legs a little bit. He is trying to talk, but as expected his speech is slurred and difficult. David is frustrated, but that was expected. Poor kid has had to experience in his short life what no kid should have to endure! We are all praying for his full recovery and that he and his family has the emotional strength needed to get through this difficult time.
