Time with Family

The weekend of June 7 & 8 was spent at my sister Beth's house in Madison. My parents and my sister Jean with her two kids were there. Alicia was excited to go and kept asking all week when we would go and if Grandma Nae and Grandpa Ehlen will be there. She sure had a lot of fun over the weekend playing with her cousins.

During mid afternoon on Saturday we experienced some terrible storms producing very heavy rain and tornadoes. After the first tornado siren, the women and kids went to the basement. The kids just played, unaware of the danger. At one point I was sitting on the sofa next to my mom while talking to Alicia. I told her I was sleepy and was going to rest my head on my mommy's shoulder. After I did that Alicia said something like, " You can't do that because my Grandma Nae is not a pillow!" It was so funny we couldn't help laughing.

Joey is now 7 months old and a very smiley baby, although he doesn't look like it in this photo. I guess I just snapped the picture at the wrong moment in time.


On Sunday during church we got blasted with more very heavy rain. Beth's sump pump was working overtime to keep the basement from flooding. They were pumping the water out to the street and the kids sure had a lot of fun with that. Alicia LOVED the cold water and would ask when more water would come. About once a minute or so she would get a gushing of water on her feet. Alicia has always loved cold water and will specifically ask for it when I get her bath ready, the colder the better she feels.
And of course other kids toys are always more fun. Alicia sure had a lot of fun bouncing on that Big ball. I was surprised she knew how to use it and she sure was good too!
Our brother Tom was in Wisconsin for a bike ride that finished on Sunday. He was able to stop by in the afternoon. It was a special treat to have so many of my family together (we miss you Bob and Rick!).
